The code used on these forums is slightly different to the old forums. This code is a mix of the old forums and HTML. For posting, there are buttons for each thing (though I'll still run through the differences), but for signatures, there aren't any buttons, so you'll need to know what to do.
The default view when posting a topic is BBCode, however you can switch to Preview mode at the bottom. You can also change your default on your profile settings.
Bold, italics and underline
These are the same as the old forums:
Images (Button: Picture)
Note the addition of 'src' and the 'alt' function. You can input something into the alt funtion (it is text that will appear when internet connection is not sufficient to display images or if the image link no longer works) but you don't need to and can leave it blank as it currently is.
Links (Button: Globe with Paper)
These don't use the URL code like the old forums.
Font Size
This has the addition of the word 'font'
Font Colour
This uses the HTML colour codes, which you can find here. You do not need the #.
A plugin has also been installed so you can use the following colours typed in as words:
Black, Red, Yellow, Pink, Green, Orange, Purple, Blue, Beige, Brown, Teal, Navy, Maroon, Lime Green, Olive.
Font
You have the choice of:
Ariel
Comic Sans MS
Courier New
Georgia
Impact
Times New Roman
Trebuchet MS
Verdana
Text Align
These used to just be [ center ] (without the spaces), but now it requires extra 'div align'.
Bullet Points
Type options:
disc (solid circle)
circle (circle outline
square (solid square)
Numbered/Lettered List
Slightly different as this has 'ol' rather than 'ul'
Type options:
decimal (numbers)
upper-alpha (uppercase letters)
lower-alpha (lowercase letters)
upper-roman (uppercase roman numerals)
lower-roman (lowercase roman numerals)
Horizontal Line
Quote
Same as the old forums

Emoticons
